I've decided to do something foolish and enter into a mountain bike race having never done anything like this in the past. I'm hoping to avoid the stags and other wild life on the course, not drown in the rivers that need to be ridden through and finally not get lost! The course is 18 miles long with some pretty hefty climbs which should be fun...! The race takes place on October 11th 2009.

 

The charity I have chosen is the Arthritis  Research Campaign (ARC). ARC raises funds to promote medical research into the cause, treatment and cure of arthritic conditions; to educate medical students, doctors and allied healthcare professionals about arthritis and to provide information to people affected by the condition and to the general public. 

 

A family member was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis from a very young age which is unusual as it is normally diagnosed from the ages of 40 - 50. She is fighting it through modern medications and this charity helps in a big way.
