Story
Good day to you all,
The walk I have chosen to do is not your average walk but a harrowing 100K walking from London to Brighton! Starting at a park in Richmond and finishing at the Brighton Race course the walk will see the participants challenge themselves against the elements.
Good question and one I will be continuously asking myself for the next 6 months while I train for the big event, the walk will be both a personal and profession challenge with the walk itself looking to raise money for a very worthy charity.
Well, a couple of years ago in Worthing, I bumped into a lovely organisation called Ultimate Pro Gaming (UPG), they spend their time raising both awareness and money for a charity called SpecialEffect. As a charity SpecialEffect raise their funds to help with developing software and hardware for the sole purpose of helping people with disabilities to be able to play video games.
Imagine one day, being struck down by illness or accident leaving you unable to move or live the life you have been used to. No way of leaving the house or to be able to be socialise with friends or family. SpecialEffect, along with support from Microsoft and other games developers are helping to LEVEL THE PLAYING FIELD by using specially designed software and hardware, Specialeffect are leading the games industry in accessibility to games for people with disabilities.
Training blog and photos will be updated on a regular basis and thank you in advance for all of your support.
I will also be shaving my head AND beard in February so watch this space!
