Story
As some of you guys may be aware. I try to do a charity event at least once a year. I was waiting for my knee to be better to do this one. It's a big one. It's one that is so close to my heart as both me and my mum have the condition. It's for Fibromyalgia specifically Fibromyalgia Action UK.
The aim of this is to spread awareness to those with and without, to help some learn about the condition and to show the positives of the condition and how I deal with it day to day.
This one is about positive awareness as there are quite a lot of symptoms that go with this so, I'm going to be completing 5 challenges across 6 days (1 rest day) 17th December- 23rd December. Each day will be dedicated to a symptom and how and what I do to get through it.
The challenges:
1) Climb Kinder Scout mountain (2087ft 637m) Peak District.
2) Ride 50 miles depends on weather if it'll be inside or outside.
3) Community charity day (volunteering and what not) Depression and anxiety (TBD)
4) Run/walk a mile an hour for 24 hours (insomnia, fatigue, pain.
5) A live Q and A Session (I think about 30mins but depends on the questions submitted) Where I will answer questions regarding anything to do with fibro, the challenge and my day to day.
Please share this it's all about positive awareness. ❤️
More on fibro below.
Fibromyalgia is a recognised chronic condition of widespread pain and profound fatigue. The pain tends to be felt as diffuse aching or burning, often described as head to toe. It may be worse at some times than at others and may also change location, usually becoming more severe in parts of the body that are used most. Other symptoms often include: unrefreshing sleep/insomnia, headaches, irritable bowel, allergies, depression, anxiety and sensitivity to environmental changes. It also can show with cognitive disturbances, clumsiness and dizziness known as Fibrofog. World's worst superhero name I know.
