Story

My Bestie and Partner James was diagnosed with Brain Cancer in 2015, it was devastating news for both him and me as we were partners in a new fledgling Music Label Project (Damo Funk Productions) & PR Venture, It was hard for his family too, but as I looked after him (as besties do for the 3 years of extra life the QE Hospital Cancer Team in Birmingham gave him, It was a hard and stressful load for us, but what was amazing was that we were helped through it with the support, help and advice from Macmillan Cancer Support (Birmingham & The West Midlands). They  were our safety net with help and advice on Financial matters as well as clinical and mental well being, because as his unofficial Carer, I had to remain as healthy as possible to ensure he had a good quality of life right up to the end and even when he eventually lost his fight with the Tumor in January 2019, Macmillan were there to catch me afterwards too! I needed counselling, which they signposted me to within the auspices of their organisation as I was emotionally & physically crippled when he died and there was a massive hole in my life both as a Friend and as a Partner in Music Production. So That's why I am doing this madness, giving back to a great charity, which is a small gesture in comparison to the invaluable work Macmillan do. They are in the Corner of the Patient and the Patients family and Carers. You don't realise how much until you actually need them what an invaluable resource of support they are, thanks to all our donations over the decades!

As you know, General fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income. This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that charities support.

It would make me up if you could support me by donating via the Button Provided and I will be taking requests via a special request page on my facebook page which I will set up the day before my marathon music fest, I will play and Mix as many requests as I can and give shout outs and special dedications as I can with my full digital and CD Library at my disposal using DJ Broadcast/Podcast software on the day..

I will be doing it in 2 separate 13 (Thirteen.. thats what I said)  Back to Back Music in da mix with a break of 7 hours in between to rest, other than that the music will not stop, even for comfort breaks (I'll put on extra Long players for that) I will be interacting live on Social media including Facebook throughout. If for any reason I have tech Issues I'll let you all Know and re-attempt on 1st May... But I am determined there will be no Tech hitches... My target is £260 so wish me luck and support me please... Thanks in advance n God bless you all and keep you safe... Damo Funk
