Story
Hello everyone!
Firstly thank you for donating to my just giving page, every penny counts towards a charity that is close to my family’s heart!
So, I’ve signed up for my first ever marathon! I’m excited and nervous at the same time (think this is called apprehensive) but ready for the challenge ahead. I’ve never been much of a runner until the last couple of years, but during the lockdown running was a great release and living in the beautiful city of Munich certainly encouraged me to get out and explore! All of a sudden I was hooked, and started to focus on PB’s, distance and monitoring my improvement! I also found the best hangover cure is to get out and kick your arse through running!! So this has lead me down the road of wanting to do a marathon! I think having to be disciplined to train, curb the alcohol intake and cut down the partying will be equally as challenging as the 26.2 miles itself!! You’re probably reading this and rolling your eyes, but I hope you can get behind me for a good cause! So that’s enough about my personal motivations. Let me explain why I want to support Macmillan Cancer support!…
Unfortunately the elephant in the room, Cancer, is something that isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. I think everybody reading this will have felt the impact of cancer, wether that’s from someone in your family, friends or work colleagues. My family is one of many that has been effected by Cancer. Witnessing those close to you go through the unimaginable pain and suffering is horrible, and the impact that has on the whole family is difficult to comprehend. Macmillan provides support to individuals and family’s who are dealing with cancer, and is a charity many rely on, even for the simple conversation or the knowledge that you are not alone. Having to deal with the physical trauma cancer brings is a battle in itself, but having the support around you is equally important.
Therefore, I’d like to raise €1000 for Macmillan, it’s ambitious, but so is a marathon in under 3.5 hours….
If I don’t beat 3.5 hours, I’ll throw €200 in myself!
Please donate, and thank you :)
Big love
