Hello all,

 

I’d like to think that this is the first time I have asked you for money so here goes…

 

I am attempting to complete the Ride 100 challenge for Moorfields eye charity on Sunday 4 August.  This is a 100 mile (race in my eyes) ride from the Olympic Park in Stratford, through London, up and over the Surrey hills and back to London finishing on the Mall.  Wiggo et al will be racing after us amateurs so it is time pressured too…I am actually having nightmares about being pulled out because I am moving too slowly!

 

Having worked at Moorfields for almost a year now I have seen first-hand the amazing work that is performed.  Countless patients visit Moorfields understandably distressed about the possibility of losing their sight, only to leave reassured and often ecstatic to know that there is free treatment available that will stop this occurring.  A large proportion of eye disease is age related so at some point or other could well affect even the healthiest of us!
