Hastings 100th Anniversary Marathon
This time it's the whole 26 mile hog. For the first time in 100 years Hastings is holding a marathon. Back then it was all petticoats and bowler hats, now it's lycra and base layers but the impressive hills are no smaller (see picture for course route).
Woo!
So the race has been run/stumbled in a time of 5hrs 7 mins. It was very hilly but most enjoyable. My thanks go to the organisers fr a fanastic event and to Father Christmas who rescued me at mile 16!
Training log
Just over a week to go. The last month has been hair-raising - legs are falling apart, car rescues on long runs, torrential rain and freezing weather. But all is still on! I am very nervous!!!
--------------
First 20 miles ever! At the end of October a fairly hilly 20 miles, slightly painful but I made it :)
--------------
Clarendon Half completed on the 5th October - very very muddy and tough going but made it through, now back to the roads to prepare for the marathon!
Family Action
I'm running for Family Action who I've had the pleasure of working with over the last year. They're a great organisation providing help and support for parents and families who most need it. They're over 100 years old and are responsible for creating the Citizen's Advice Bureau among many other things.
So please sponsor me, your money will be put to very good use!
Thanks,
Damian
