Story
Cycling for charity is an amazing chance to put myself to the test while also raising funds for end of life care in our local community.
Two events that I have entered is the Ride London-Essex 60 which is taking place end of May 2022. 60 miles around the closed roads of the capital and out into the Essex countryside. This is a step up from the 46 miles I did at the similar event in 2019.
The second event I must be crazy. Everyone for yeas has been saying you must do a century ride - so this year just two weeks after doing the London ride, I am driving a short 300 miles to South Yorkshire to enter the Sportive HQ 100 on 11th June. I've never cycled further than 70 miles in one day so this is going to be a massive challenge for me.
For those that know me and my family, we have always raised money for St Luke's Hospice as a charity they have taken care of many members of our family but also that of so many of our close friends.
So by pedalling my bike really does help keeps the wheels of hospice care turning! At home, in hospital or at the St Luke's specialist unit based at Turnchapel, the funds I raise will help St Luke's to continue to provide specialist care for patients and support for families.
By taking part, I will be contributing towards the total St Luke's need to raise each year, and helping to care for somebody in our local community at a time they really need it.
Really appreciate any support you might be able to offer.
