It was a hot, hot day - 23 degrees and no wind. Brilliant atmosphere and organisation.

 

Finished in 3:42 in the end after a very hard last 6 miles, I think everyone was suffering a bit in the heat.

After a very successful fundraising campaign last year for Chestnut Tree House (thank you to all who sponsored me), I have decided to run this event again for the same charity.

 

Their support up to and during the marathon was brilliant and they provide such a worthy cause for those children and families who are in need of their services and I know for Nathan (for those of you who haven't followed some of my marathon exploits, Nathan is the son of a friend of ours who required round the clock attention and care) Chestnut Tree House has been one of the many support groups which have help him.

 

Having completing the marathon last year in 3h32 I am determined to go back this year to improve upon that time. I don't think this will be a problem as I now know the course and hopefully it won't be quite so hot!!! So a sub 3:30 will my aim.
