On the night of 16th May 1943, 133 men in 19 Lancasters took off from RAF Scampton on one the most audacious missions of the second world war.

The mission was hailed as a success but 8 of the Lancasters failed to return, 53 men were killed and 3 were taken prisoners of war, 1 of the men killed was Squadron Leader Henry Maudslay, pilot of AJ-Z and second in command to Guy Gibson, he was just 21 years old!!

Henry was born in Royal Leamington Spa in Warwickshire, the home town of the team leader Simon Storey, and to honour Henry, and all the other Dambusters, Simon has organised an epic 4 day, 400 mile cycle challenge which will take the team from Henry's house where he was born, all the way to the Mohne Dam, taking in a number of important places of interest including The Petwood Hotel, RAF Scampton, The Dambusters Inn, Reichswald Forest war cemetery, the crash site of AJ-Z and of course the Mohne Dam to name a few.

There are 7 members of our team, the same number as a crew of a Lancaster (we also have a support driver), the team are:

Simon Storey, Struan Marshall, Craig Pattison, Chris Taylor, Chris Wade, Bob Barba, Harry Bromage and our brilliant support driver Nigel Prothero
