Story
I am walking 100km continuously on the Thames path challenge on the 10th September 2022 for the British Heart Foundation. We did a similar challenge in May 2021. The impact was massive so here we go again! I have chosen this charity to honour my Brother Jagdeep Singh Sekhon who sadly passed away from SADS (Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome). SADS is when someone dies suddenly following a cardiac arrest or when no obvious cause can be found. This affects around 500 people in the UK every year. I am hoping the funds will go towards continuous research to get a better understanding of heart rhythm disturbances which cause SADS.
I know it is a difficult time for many to give at the moment during the pandemic and the cost of living crisis and money is tight. Any donation no matter how small will make a massive difference and is much appreciated. Just by reading and becoming aware of SADS you are making a difference.
Jagdeep you will be forever in our hearts.. You'll never walk alone!
Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
