Story

Sport means the world to Dale from Carlow, competing in five Special Olympic sports - he just can’t be stopped.

When Dale and his parents discovered Special Olympics Ireland, they knew that sport was how Dale could excel in life, and competing in five sports meant he could express himself. He's often the star of the show!

Special Olympics Ireland needs your help to keep Dale and other athletes like him running, competing, and thriving across the island of Ireland.

Special Olympics is a sport organisation for people with an intellectual disability, currently supporting nearly 8,000 athletes across Ireland, who are training for much more than the physical benefits that come from sport, but the emotional and social development that come from being part of S.O.I.
