In the UK, 1 in 10 babies need specialist care at birth. SSNAP supports sick & premature babies and their families in the Newborn Care Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital. Imagine your newborn baby needing specialist care at birth. Instead of those very special days getting to know your baby as a family, you’re catapulted into an unfamiliar world of incubators, wires, medical tests and interventions. While your baby has specialist treatment, we provide emotional and practical support to help you through the trauma & upheaval. We’re there to help families cope, and provide state-of-the-art medical equipment and nursing expertise that could save babies lives.

Story

Hi guys I've decided to this year take on a challenge and raise some money for SNAPP as many of you know but some may not our twins Jack and Tommy were born at 29 weeks they spent 8 weeks in scbu being looked after and cared for by the brilliant neonatal team at the Jr hospital SSNAP supports and helps parents and children of poorly and sick babies that are born early or with complications they all do amazing things and I wanted to raise money for this charity and raise awareness of this charity..

As you know Snapp is very close to my family's heart, as when the boys were in hospital when they were born SSNAP was there for us on our good days and our bad days throughout the toughest 8 weeks of our life the special care baby unit and all its consultants, doctors and nurses do a brilliant job and if it wasn't for the care and nurture of Jack and Tommy they wouldn't be where they are now nearly 5 years on from when they were born I would like to challenge myself and take on this challenge to raise some money and give back something to SSNAP we always hold the hospital and SSNAP close to our hearts, they do incredible jobs and SSNAP has done alot for both mine and Amanda's family going back throughout the years.

Also not many of you may know this as well but when I was born I was a special care baby and SSNAP was there for my mum and dad too.

Jack and Tommy are now nearly 5 thriving little boys to think they came into this world so vulnerable and little you wouldn't notice today they are incredible and strong little boys to overcome everything they have and I want to thank and give back to SSNAP.
