Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My wife (Rebecca) was diagnosed with myathenia gravis in Feb 2021 and by the April 2021 she was in and out of hospital with severe crisis, undergoing various treatments, infusions and even had 10days in a coma at one stage. I was looking after Rebecca, the kids, working full time and supporting her own business. Rebecca also lost her mum in April 2021 to illness so you can imagine the rough period. Each hospital stay lasted about 3-4 wks. with only 2wks at home in between. Rebecca under went surgery at xmas 2021 in papworth to remove the thymus gland and is currently at home recovering and under going recovery treatment. The myathenia gravis came as a shock and a unknown condition with little knowledge or information about it and proved to be a rare condition with not lot of people knowing about it, staff at Addenbrookes often said they never seen a patient with such a severe case. It has changed our lives forever and we had to adapt our life style and house but will not be beaten, we are both members of myware and actively promote myathenia awareness and educate the best we can with our experience. i want to raise awareness, while raising money by doing something i love and lucky to do and run
