Story
18 weeks of training come rain or shine will take me to April 28th standing at the start line of the London Marathon.
This was very much a rash decision to apply back when the ballot opened in 2018, but I needed something big to get me back into running and big is what I got. I remained incredibly indecisive about running for a charity as I wasn’t quite sure I’d manage the 26.2 miles, totally underestimating just how big it really was.
Now reaching a point in my training plan where I know I can do it, I felt like I had to do something to make this once in a lifetime opportunity that little more worthwhile, and with that I have decided to run for Starlight Children’s Foundation. I have been lucky enough in life to not have any link to any charity so far but since having Ted I knew I had to do something child related.
Starlight Children’s Foundation aim to support seriously ill children by granting them once in a lifetime wishes, making their darkest days that little bit brighter. They aim to support the whole family, holding events throughout the year to raise everyone’s spirits, helping to make seriously ill children smile.
So if you are able or feel the desire to support me on my journey and help those 26.2 miles feel that little bit less painful it would be gratefully received. Big or small, it all goes to help keeping those children smile.
