Story
Say hi to Daisy!
Daisy was born 12 weeks early and has quadriplegic cerebral palsy. You may have seen her on The Secret Life of 5 Year Olds, on channel 4 in 2016.
Daisy is a beautiful, kind, intelligent little girl who really struggles with movement. She is unable to sit, stand, crawl or walk unaided but it is hoped that with intensive physiotherapy and new advances in equipment, Daisy will reach her full potential and make her future a brighter, more independent one.
Nicola and Sarah both work at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with Daisy's mum Lucy and are therefore aware of the endless amount of love, support and encouragement Daisy's family give to her. We too would like to help support Daisy by raising awareness of her profile and raising as much money as we possibly can.
Daisy regularly attends Kids Physio Works in Colchester who are an amazing provider of physiotherapy. We will be raising money to help fund these sessions and also for specialist equipment which will be needed by Daisy as she develops and grows.
Daisy is a happy, determined and driven little girl and we are delighted to do what we can to help support her.
On 10th September 2017 Daisy's Divas (aka Nicola Ward and Sarah Byatt) ran the Great North Run half marathon to raise funds for the gorgeous Daisy Mason. Nicola and Sarah dressed as giant daises and gave out 1500 Daisy hearts to the wonderful runners and supports of the GNR. We are so grateful to them for their generosity and support. We also thank David and Dean for joining our team on the day (dressed as a sunflower and a bee!)
Our next mission is to make and sell Christmas daisy hearts, Christmas decorations and gifts at local craft fairs. If you would like to donate items we would love to hear from you. Please e-mail nik1605@hotmail.co.uk or find Daisy Divas on Facebook or Twitter.
Thank you for reading Daisy's story and for your kind donation.
