London Landmarks Half Marathon for Marie Curie - In memory of Heather Bentley

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025 · 6 April 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
Marie Curie is a charity organisation which provides vital end of life care for patients with terminal illnesses. This is a very important charity to my family and I, after experiencing first hand the care they provide.
In August of 2022 my mum, Heather, moved into Marie Curie hospice West Midlands, at the end of her battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Marie Curie quickly became a second home for our family and friends to spend all day, every day, with my mum.The hospice nurses provided incredible care for my mum, with everything from having a chat and getting to know her personally, to even a gin and tonic in the evening. Despite the hardest circumstances, Marie Curie enabled us to still all eat dinner together, watch movies, play games, enjoy time in the garden, and even host a Birthday party in my mum’s room with all our family and friends.
The 31 days we spent there was the most precious month of my life, before my mum sadly passed away on September 23rd 2022, aged just 44.
On 6th April 2025, I am running the London Landmarks Half Marathon with my Dad, to raise money for this amazing charity in memory of my wonderful mum. Any donations or shares of my page would mean a lot to me. With around half of the cost of running their hospices and services relying on generous donations, your money will mean others will experience the end of life care and support we were fortunate to receive from Marie Curie.
I will forever be thankful for Marie Curie, so giving back by raising money is the least I can do.
Thank you, Daisy xx
