Hi, my name is Daisy, I'm 10 years old and I'd like to tell you why I'm doing this sponsored swim.

My Grandad Peter passed away from cancer, 6 years ago in December, I was very much a Grandad's girl and his passing left a huge void in my life. Eighteen months ago my Grandma Janet (his wife) was diagnosed with the exact same cancer, to me and my sister Megan, it meant she wouldn't survive either. After a very tough year, major surgery and a determined fight, I am pleased to say Grandma Janet is now doing well.

This isn't the first time our family has been touched by cancer, my Dad's mum also passed away after a brave battle in 1997, she was only 52. 

I asked my Mum and Dad if I could do a sponsored swim to raise money for Cancer Research, hopefully one day we will find a cure and people won't have to suffer this terrible disease anymore.

I have arranged to swim approximately 2 miles of my local pool (that is 128 lengths), which to me, at the age of 10 is quite a long way! 

I would be really grateful if you would sponsor me to raise money for this.
