Story
Alex sadly passed away in her sleep when she was just 16, 10 years ago this year. She was an extremely fit and seemingly well young person, she was our best friend, daughter, sister, and cousin, and was taken from us all far too soon. She was caring, generous, supportive, and always put others first and we are all so lucky to have had her in our lives- albeit for too short a time.
The heartache of losing Alex will always be there, but I want to do something to support CRY and remember Alex, to support the charity close to all our hearts.
In the 10th year without Alex, I am going to attempt a half marathon, alongside Carl, there may be tears and tantrums, but I am determined to get around and raise some money along the way.
Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions. See how your support can help by visiting www.c-r-y.org.uk.
