Story

Dear Parents,

It is upsetting to hear on the news about all the people fleeing their homes to escape the conflict in Ukraine leaving behind jobs, belongings and loved ones, they now face an uncertain future.

At Ukraine’s borders with Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Moldova, huge numbers of people are arriving with only what they can carry. In many places there are long waits to cross and scant facilities waiting for them on the other side, with temperatures dropping below
freezing overnight.

As a school community, we will be supporting the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) is a
group of 15 UK charities who are working together in a joint fundraising appeal. Every pound donated by the British public will be matched by the government – up to the value of £20million.

Thank you in advance for your support with this important cause.

Yours sincerely
