Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My Dad sadly passed away on 30th March 2021. I wanted to do something positive and something he would approve of as a living memorial.
Dad wouldn't have wanted a big funeral and a big fuss so we request that no flowers are sent, instead if you feel you can and would like to, please make a donation on this page to The Border Collie Trust UK.
They are based in Staffordshire and it is were I adopted my Collie Jasper. Mum and Dad trekked up to Staffordshire with me that day, with Dads then dog, Casey to pick up my boy. Jasper was very nervous, he'd already have 2 previous owners in his short lifetime. He couldn't seem to work out how to get in the car, so Dad picked him up, chatting away to him and lifted him in the car. I knew from that very moment that Jasper was loved by us all and that he would never return to a rescue centre, he was with us for life.
The Border Collie Trust UK help so many collies find there forever homes every year, this last year has been partially difficult for them for obvious reasons. Your donations will go towards, housing, feeding, medications, veterinary care and rehabilitating these beautiful dogs who deserve a second chance in life.
We chose this charity simply because my Dad loved Border Collies. From as far back as I can remembered he always used to watch "One man and his dog" on the television and be impressed by these clever dogs that could round up sheep and even ducks with just a few whistles and commands. Family holidays always seemed to have a trip to a local sheep herding trial. Mum recalls a particular day in Hawes, Yorkshire that he loved. In his fitter years he spent many hours taking both Casey and Jaffa to agility lessons and they became quite good at it.
