Story
I have decided to run the Bournemouth Marathon. Initially I was planning on running the Brighton Marathon (hence the event saying Brighton marathon on here), however after training for 5 months, 5 weeks before the event I fractured my ankle and pulled some ligaments out of place, putting me in a cast and on crutches for a few months, so unfortunately had to pull out. I've now signed up to do the Bournemouth marathon on the 8th October, and after a struggle to get back to fitness, am now (hopefully) ready to complete the marathon. This will be my first Marathon and first race of any kind since my 3rd place finish in the 1500m in a PE lesson at school. I am running it for CLIC Sargent which is a "charity that specializes in supporting children and young people with cancer, and their families. It provides clinical, practical, financial and emotional support to help children cope with cancer and get the most out of life"
CLIC Sargent supports people from diagnosis onwards and aims to help the whole family deal with the impact of cancer and its treatment, life after treatment and, in some cases, bereavement.
The charity also undertakes research into the impact of cancer on children and young people. It uses this evidence to raise awareness and to seek to influence government and policy-makers, and those who provide public services across the UK."
One of my best mates, Aaron Wood, is currently suffering from brain cancer and I know from speaking to him that this charity have been a big help and support to him and his family, which is the reason why I have decided to run this race. Anyway, if anyone would like to donate any amount large or small I would be really grateful. Cheers for reading.

* Since signing up for the marathon and writing this page, I am very sorry to write, that Aaron passed away on the 4th December 2016 following a long and brave battle. I will run the marathon in his memory.
