Whilst its not a triathlon or a marathon, walking 25 kilometres up and down the Seven Sisters in the beautiful Sussex countryside is quite a daunting prospect for a tub of lard like me.  (Have you seen the size of those cliffs!).  But its not the nature of the challenge that's important; its the need to raise funds for a magnificent charity that does brilliant work providing mental health support to children. 

This year Coutts staff voted to support a range of charities that are helping people who are struggling with their mental health.  The reason I have chosen to support Place2Be is that it focuses on providing children with mental health support.  When I was but a young lad at junior school, one of my classmates suffered with mental health issues, although we were too young to appreciate it at the time.  Although I am embarrassed to admit it now I, like many others, largely left him to his own devices. Sadly, as a result I don't think he will have fond memories of his schooldays.  Although I can't change the past, I can help to ensure that no child is ever left in that position again in the future. 

And you can play your part to help these children too.  But you get the easy part of the deal because all you have to do is sponsor me.  All donations, whatever their size will be gratefully received.  And believe me, trudging up those hills will be so much easier knowing that I am raising money to help this amazing charity.
