The rather ambitious, and what now feels an increasingly unachievable plan is to try and cycle, self-supported, the vast majority of the Transamerica Trail, starting in Astoria, Oregon before ending up in New York; making it a c.5,000 mile route. If all goes according to plan I'll be sipping Manhattans in Manhattan mid-October. That's one big if.
Its often said that charity starts at home and I'm a firm believer in that, but often home doesn't necessarily always create the environment for someone to get the best help. Through speaking to someone away from home it can prove more beneficial. I for one have certainly previously personally benefited from therapy and coaching sessions.
Far too many friends and family members have lost parents at an early age which is why this year through my challenges I want to support Jigsaw4u. Jigsaw4u, a small London based charity, help children and young people, who have experienced loss and trauma, put the pieces back together.
Just to clarify and reassure, everything related to my trip has been self-funded so anything you are kind enough to be able to donate will go straight to the charity to create positive change. And yes Clare is Rosie, to keep the folks at HMRC happy I have to register using the name on my passport.
