Story
With Christmas celebrations being slightly different this year, the new recruits at Surrey Fire and Rescue service have an event more exciting than the John Lewis Christmas advert this year. Join the team for the festive fundraiser this December.
To celebrate the end of their initial training the team of 10 trainee firefighters will be challenging themselves to cycle the cumulative distance between themselves at SFRS headquarters and home. They will quite literally (and virtually) be cycling home for christmas – on indoor bikes. But why stop there? To add some festive spice, they won’t be alone...joining them trying to make it home in time for minced pies and mulled wine will be their instructors.
These Santa-suit clad trainee firefighters and their instructors will be cycling a distance of 543 miles on the 16th December in aid of the firefighter charity who exist to support the mental health, physical and social needs of serving and retired members of the UK’s Fire Family. In what has been an unprecedented and challenging year, charities such as this struggle with the lack of fundraising from the cancellation of multiple events due to the effects of COVID-19.
Join them on December 16th show your support and join them to find out who will be making it home In time for Christmas Dinner and who will be left outside in the snow!
