Story
A brief intro - my name is Graham Glass and I have signed up to do the Tour de Sez 2018. This is a charity bike ride from St Malo to Amsterdam, a distance in excess of 750 miles. The charity that I am raising money for is the Sarah Groves Foundation, a Guernsey based charity focusing in enhancing young lives.
Sarah Groves was a beautiful daughter to Vic and Kate Groves but was tragically murdered in Kashmir India in 2013. Vic and Kate created the Sarah Groves Foundation in 2014 and to date have funded many projects working closely with locally based child/youth non-profit charities, causes that were very close to Sarah's heart.
Every member of the Tour de Sez is raising money for the charity and I thought that I'd something a little different! I came up with the idea of building a bike powered boat and attempting to "cycle" from Guernsey to Herm with a target date of 2nd September. Boaty McBikeFace was born!!
The build has been difficult and I am deeply indebted to James Larbelestier from JL Innovation for his engineering expertise and huge efforts. If the attempt fails it certainly won't be due to him!
There are two stand-by dates if the weather on the 2nd isn't good enough - the 3rd September and then the 29th October.
