Story
The Professional Cricketers' Trust was created to support the lifelong health and wellbeing of Professional Cricketers' Trust members and their immediate families. The players' charity looks out for players throughout their active careers and long afterwards, funding life changing medical assistance, crisis helplines and educational programmes in England and Wales.
As a PCA employee, and former cricketer, I have seen and experienced how the work of the PCT can positively impact the lives of our members. Lives have literally been saved in the process.
The challenge begins on 10 October 2023, coinciding with World Mental Health Day. The players’ charity will use the awareness day to highlight the need to raise funds to combat the growing trend of welfare and wellbeing issues and aims to raise £50,000, a substantial figure given the Trust operates with no funding partner at present. If achieved, the successful riders will secure enough donations to provide life-changing and in some cases life-saving mental health support for over 50 individuals.
In addition to riding over 400kms in Oct, I will also undertake the 'Hell of the North Cotswolds' off road endurance cycling event in September. This event covers 100kms of challenging routes through the hills and valleys of the Cotswolds.
Thank you for your support!
