Story
From mid-May to mid-June 2017, I cycled 1519.1 miles from Narbonne in the south of France back to Norwich via the Alps, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands. I travelled with no phone or internet and had some amazing experiences of generosity and kindness along the way.
Barnardo's is a great chartity which can really turn lives around for lots of young kids in the UK. I work on the Railways as a Relief Signalman for Network Rail and Barnardo's is our charity of choice for 2017, so I have opted to cycle for Barnardo's in the hope lots of colleagues dig deep into their pockets and sponsor my ride.
]I'm cycled unassisted, carry all my gear which weighs around 100kg - water, food, a tent and all the other kit that comes with camping and cycle touring.I wildcamped for seventeen nights, one of them in a bivvy bag under the stars, had another three nights in campsites and for the remainder was hosted by the most kind and generous people I could have hoped to have met on my journey.
All money raised will go directly to Barnardo's and will not be used to subsidise my trip in any way.
Thank you!
