Story
As many of you know, I have had the privilege of being part of the annual Pepper Show for several years, to help raise money for the Pepper Foundation. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, the charity made the difficult decision to cancel all of their 2020 fundraising events including the annual Pepper Show. In an attempt to recoup some funding they have challenged their supporters to take on The Pepper Foundation 59 Challenge. The charity currently funds the nursing care of 59 patients in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire, hence the 59 challenge!
I have therefore decided to set myself the challenge of cycling 59 miles in 59 days, starting on 7th March 2021. I have never done anything like this before and currently only cycle occasionally for fun but I wanted to take on a personal challenge to improve my fitness and of course to try and raise a bit of money for The Pepper Foundation. My 9 yr old daughter, Sally, who many of you will know, is also keen to take part, so will be joining me on some of the rides for a bit of moral support and to help ensure we have some fun along the way too!
I appreciate these are incredibly challenging times in so many ways for so many people and we would therefore be incredibly grateful for any amount you feel able to donate, no matter how small, to help keep us motivated and to keep pedalling until we reach our goal - all being well by 5th May 2021!
All money raised will go directly to The Pepper Foundation to help fund the vital work of the nursing team who care for and support children with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
Thank you so much
