Cycle for Dementia
Campaign by Alzheimer's Society (RCN 296645)
Could you power through the miles to help us beat dementia sooner? We're challenging you to take on between 100 and 500 miles in 30 days.

Story

Sean and I have chosen to complete this challenge for two people who are special to us. My Grandad lived in a care home for the remaining 7 years of his life with Alzheimers and Dementia. Unfortunately, he passed away in April 2020 and we miss him dearly. Sean's Nan has also been battling the same disease for 6 years and lives in a care home.

We are going to be mountain biking a total of 500 miles in a month (250 miles each) beginning on Sunday 17th May. We would be very grateful for any donations (no matter how big or small) to show your support and raise money for a charity that means something to us. We will be posting regular updates so you can see how we are doing.

The coming months are set to be tough and COVID-19 will hit people affected by dementia the hardest. This also means that our ability to ramp up support for the people who need us is at risk. We are estimating the scale of deficit to be in the millions, both as a result of COVID-19 and the impact on our fundraising income. So were asking you to go the extra mile and sign up now to take part in our Cycle for Dementia challenge.
