Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are a group of work colleagues who, as part of a health and wellbeing initiative, started this year with the intention of losing weight and getting fitter.
Adam Cass had the idea to continue this initiative and to have something to aim for to keep people motivated. We decided to do our own version of a triathlon. This will involve cycling a marathon, climbing Snowdon then canoeing 3 miles, all between sunrise and sunset (after spending the night before camping).
We are doing this for a charity based in the Midlands called Abbie's Hideaway. This charity gives children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and their families a chance to have a holiday away together on the East Coast in a static home. It's not about jetting people off to Disney; it's about creating some lasting memories and time together for families whose kids are seriously ill.
This charity was set up by Ian Mustard after he lost his daughter, Abbie, to Leukemia at just 16 years of age.
Please donate as much as you can possibly afford. This is no mean feat for many of the people involved and the charity is such a worthy one. None of your money will go to funding lots of red tape and administration involved in so many of the larger charities. This will all go to helping kids in desperate need.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
