Story
Thanks for visiting our page. This is what it's about!
Moira cycled, with Shelagh King, the whole 860 miles as part of her celebration of turning 65 in May. Heidi, turning 40 this year, cycled 250 miles, from Wooler, through the Borders to Glasgow and then Edinburgh. The whole ride was Hastings to Edinburgh and took place in July 2019.
This ride aimed to 1) raise awareness of the work of Freedom from Torture, which provides therapeutic services to survivors of torture, 2) connect local support groups and 3) raise much-needed funds for this work. We cycled between 30 and 70 miles a day with some rest days. Local FfT support groups across the UK put on events to coincide with the cyclists' visit, thereby raising the profile even more and raising more funds too.
See https://edinburghfft.org/category/cat2019-update/ for the updates on the ride. Your support will help provide counselling, group therapy and ongoing support for survivors of torture. THANKS from both of us.
