Story
This May, Alex, James, James B and Jamie plan to challenge their fitness levels in a 350km cycle to raise money for a little boy who faces his own challenges on a daily basis.
Their two day journey will begin in the hustle and bustle of London, taking them across the Midlands through the Soar Valley, over the many hills of the Peak District National Park and ending in the industrial heartlands of Manchester.
They are cycling to raise money for Just4children, who have set up a campaign for Huxley (James's son), who has Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. His condition means he cannot sit, roll over, crawl, see and has multiple seizures each day.
Although the world through Huxley’s eyes may be significantly different to that of an able child, he still wants to play like a normal little boy, has a constant cheeky grin that can light up a room, and loves the world that he knows. He's a courageous little fighter and continues to smile against all the odds! But the development gap widens as time goes on and he slips further behind, isolating him from day to day realities. The charity's fund will mean that he can receive intensive specialist physiotherapy and the opportunity for selective surgery, both proven to drastically help the development of children like Huxley and give them a better quality of life.
You can find out more about Huxley's journey so far on his fundraising page.
