Story
Hi Everyone! Thanks so for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
In November 2018 we're cycling 450k/280miles across India to raise vital funds for 3 amazing worth while charities. Here's a little bit about ourselves and why we're Cycling India!!
Michelle ~ Back in November 2011 I was diagnosed with cervical cancer, at the age of 25 this was the last thing I thought would happen! After many appointments and small operations at Torbay and Exeter hospital, I was told I would need further treatment and was referred to St Bartholomews hospital, St Pauls in London for a much more major and specialist operation called a 'Radical Tracalectomy' and also to have my 'Lymth nodes' removed. After a long 11 days in hospital recovering and after a few further problems I was eventually allowed home, Thankfully a few weeks later on the 21st March 2012 I was given the all clear! It hasn't been an easy ride but everything I have been through in the last 5 years has inspired me to do something to help these well deserved charities in raising money to help people like myself, also the people less fortunate who require more treatment and of course the ones who are not here today.
In 2014 I cycled Cuba with Women V Cancer and it was the most amazing experience, I made life long friends and memories. So here's to Cycle India 2018!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all in taking time to read my story and sponsoring us. Look forward to seeing you all at some fundraising events over the next 18 months to help raise the £12,800 we need to cycle India!! 💕
Sarah ~ losing someone so close to me has been the hardest thing I think I have ever had to go through, nobody should have to lose their best friend so young but unfortunately that happened to me this year when my gorgeous forever friend kim lost her hard fought battle with cancer. I had actually been really lucky that before now cancer had never really touched my life but I know so many people that have had to go through this many, many times and if I can raise money to help potentially save someone else from losing their best friend, their wife, sister, mummy or any other special person then I'm going to try my hardest! Kim travelled to India years ago and had an amazing time and when this opportunity came around it really felt like it was meant to be! I'm looking forward to the challenge and really hope that you will help support me and these 3 other lovely girlies in our fundraising events! Thankyou for reading our stories and supporting us with this challenge! ❤️
Alice ~ this amazing challenge means a lot to Sarah and I as we are doing it in memory of our wonderful friend Kim. Kim we love you and miss you every day xx like many others I personally have lost some very close family members to cancer and it's heart breaking, if we can help just one more person fight this evil disease then its all worth it. Those of you that know me know this will be the ultimate challenge for me as I am not the fittest person on the planet but I am going to work hard and give it all I have - thank you in advance for your love and support - peace out ✌️
Rachel ~ So I've finally done it! After much persuading, I've signed up! We're cycling 280 miles across India in aid of 3 amazing charities! I don't personally have a story to share, but know far too many people who have been affected by cancer.
The girls and I plan to do lots of fundraising events over the next 18 months to raise as much money as possible and hope to make a difference.
Thanks for reading!
