Story
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page. I am part of the POG fundraising team and a former scientist that worked with Alison at the Paul O'Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre (POG-LRC) within the University of Glasgow. The POG team are raising vital funds to help make the lives of leukaemia patients better through the discovery of better treatments.
Hugh and Mags Forgie planned to cycle from Glasgow to the big toe of Italy (2000 miles) in July to raise funds for POG-LRC.
Sadly, Hugh died of leukaemia before he could complete this and in his memory, the POG team are planning to cover the 2000 miles with lots of activities in July, to raise money for leukaemia research.
I had the honour of meeting Hugh in several occasions during my work at the POG-LRC. Despite the leukaemia, he was energetic, inspiring and always full of tips on how to improve my running performance.
To help raise money which will support the research my friends (and former colleagues) do at the POG-LRC, I will run over 30 miles (hopefully in one day!) in my personal event called "Carron Valley Ultramarathon (CVU)" in July.
Please support us in any way you can!
