Story
Student Action for Female Education (SAFE) is a student-led project founded through the Cambridge University United Nations Association. We aim to promote female education in partnership with CAMFED, an NGO working across 161 districts in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Ghana, Tanzania and Malawi. CAMFED sees female education as the most effective way to tackle poverty and inequality, leading to systemic change. One of the most important aspects of CAMFED is the CAMFED Association (CAMA). This is their alumni network made up of women who were supported by CAMFED in the face of adversity, and who have become leaders of change in their communities. Our SAFE mission is to raise money to support the work of CAMFED, to raise awareness about the importance of female education, and to demonstrate how this can lead to sustainable change, turning the tide against poverty and inequality.
