Story

We  are members of the 3rd Battalion 506 PIR Living History group.

As we are isolated from our other members and are unable to celebrate VE Day due to Covid 19 we are planning to march the equIvalent height and distance of Mount Currahee in full World War II combat gear. The Mount Currahee march formed an important part of the training of the 101st Airborne based  in Camp Toccoa, Georgia.

We plan to follow strict social distancing rules throughout the march. Our march will take place in our local village, following a loop up Wrington Hill (96m) several times until we have covered the equivalent height and distance of Mount Currahee (529m)

Understandably this is a difficult time to ask for donations, for charity, but this is a personal challenge that feels appropriate on this day, so we would appreciate any contribution no matter how small.
