Welcome everyone, 

Hi, I'm Brooke, I am 12 years old, and firstly I would just like to thank you for stopping by my justgiving page. 

In the month of June I am raising money for a charity very close to both mine and my families heart, the Alzheimers Society. For those of you that don't know, my Great Grandpa will be turning 89 years old next month and has been diagnosed with dementia, over the last few years things have changed significantly for him and now he is well looked after in a lovely care home. Despite his memory loss and severe anxiety, he still remembers who I am which makes me smile every time I visit, even with his dementia he is generally a very well and healthy man.

I have decided to tie in my fundraising with my great grandpa's 89th birthday in June . Due to coronavirus we haven't been able to visit him since the beginning of the year and this is a really sad and confusing time for him and the other residents so I thought I would try and do something special to cheer them all up on his special day.

I'm sure most of you know how much I love my baking so I will be baking 89 cupcakes to be delivered to his care home for all the staff and residents to enjoy.... and I really hope to put a smile on their faces with a  yummy treat during these times, however I can't go in, but they have said they would be delighted to take these off my hands once completed, they would never say no to a cupcake! 

As part of my fundraising it doesn't end there... whilst I'm off school, inbetween my studying, I am going to walk/run 89km in distance. This is the equivilent of just over the length of 2 marathons....! 

I will also be holding a virtual quiz night - event date to follow for those that would like to join!
