Story
We are a group of Cambridge University students who produce comedy shows to raise money for charity and take it to members of the local community who normally wouldn't get to see theatre. With the COVID-19 pandemic, we cannot do the latter but we've been working long-distance on three audio productions this academic term that will be uploaded onto our YouTube Page which you can access here: https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCg6v83D5mDqfqzkVuBsn-dw , and broadcast on CamFM radio. We are hoping you can spare a few pounds to help us support Refuge.
Refuge is an incredibly important charity providing much needed services to victims of domestic violence and abuse. This has always been a prevalent problem throughout our society, but it has certainly worsened throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Rates of domestic violence and women seeking shelter have increased around the world as victims are trapped in households with their abusers. Refuge has always supported victims of domestic violence, but their services are needed now more than ever.
One woman in four will experience domestic violence at some point in her lifetime and two women are killed each week in England and Wales by a current or former partner. Refuge supports around 6,000 women & children on any given day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence.By donating today you are helping to save and change the lives of thousands of women and children escaping domestic violence.Thank you.
