We provide advice and support to improve the lives of people with a stoma

Story

My Story is long and one of those sob stories that nobody really wants to hear from a grown man. I I developed systems of a broken bowel 10 years ago after a henmeroidectomy while training for the army. Suffice to say the army didnt happen because of the condition I then spent the rest of my 20s stcluck to a toilet foghting for what I knew would at least help me. Afrer 9 yeas of torturous hell stuck to a toilet I attempted suicide after again being denied a stoma and having my life end was the only escape at this point from the pain. Fast forward 6 months and I had survived obviously and was finally given that chance I fought so hard for. Now that I am phyisically recovered I am tryong to work out what to od with my life now I have been given such a great gift. I have decided to do this small ride before I theb go on to cycle round the world in a few years time hpping to be the first Ileostomate ( to my knowledge) to have cycled round the world. Colostomy UK is a national charity that offers support and advice to people with stomas and to their families, carers and friends. Colostomy UK also campaigns and acts as advocates for ostomates on the many issues they face going about their daily lives. We want hidden conditions to be understood and accepted by all. Our vision is of communities in which everyone is empowered to reach their potential.
