Event: London Marathon 2019, on 28 April 2019
The London Marathon is the biggest running event in Britain, nothing matches the atmosphere or the sense of accomplishment as you cross the finish line. Go the extra mile by supporting Centrepoint.

Story

Running the London Marathon has been a "bucket list" item for me for several years and an ambition I have wanted to fulfil for a long time.

Having a busy work and family life has meant finding the time to train in the cold wind and rain of the winter months has been tough.  However after clocking up over 250 miles in training since the start of the year, the finish line, or in fact the starting line, is now in sight!

I am extremely proud to be running the 2019 London Marathon on behalf of Centrepoint.

Centrepoint is an incredible charity helping nearly 10,000 young people a year into homes and jobs, literally transforming lives.

Whilst the past three months of training have been tough, it pales into insignificance compared to how tough it must be for a young homeless person in the UK.  I am extremely fortunate to have a fantastic young family but for some youngsters not knowing if they will make it through the night safely or not knowing where their next meal is coming from must be terrifying.

The London Marathon is a once in a year challenge but for too many young people in the UK homelessness is a daily never-ending battle.  Every penny I am able to raise will make a difference to somebody's life so I am extremely grateful for any support you can give.

£15 could provide a set of essential toiletries, including moisturiser, toothbrush and bath products, giving a young person a fresh start when they arrive at Centrepoint.

£30 could provide a young person with the smart clothing need for a job interview, so they can confidently present their skills and potential to prospective employers.

£50 could provide a hamper of food and basic essentials for a young person in serious financial difficulty to keep them from going hungry.

£95 could provide books, food and essentials for a young person starting an apprenticeship, college or university course, allowing them to move forward.

£500 could provide a course of therapy with a Centrepoint specialist for a young person who has suffered abuse and neglect, allowing them to progress to a healthy future.

Thanks so very much and fingers crossed for the big day!
