Story
Each year Canterbury Residents Group and Canterbury Community Group run a Christmas appeal for Catching Lives in Canterbury. Together, we've raised tens of thousands of pounds for Catching Lives every Christmas, so thank you for visiting and donating, it means so much to so many people.
This year we are raising funds for winter provisions, to provide warmth, food and support during the coldest months of the year.
The true spirit of Canterbury is one of kindness and caring. Every year the number of posts in our group about the homeless grows, and so does the number of people that want to help.
Catching Lives provide support for rough sleepers, homeless and vulnerably-housed people in East Kent. Their centre in Canterbury is open 7 days a week providing services including: meals, laundry, change of clothes, mental health support, art activities and advice and advocacy. Their objective is to help people tackle their issues, access accommodation and find the motivation to move towards personal recovery and independent living. This includes mentoring; helping people maintain accommodation, and mental health support after they have moved on.
