Story
I am finally doing the ride to MIPIM this year after three previously failed attempts. I spent years saying no to the late great Will Monk then finally agreed to do it in 2019 – but then managed to have an accident which put me out of action - second attempt, I trained up and with a week to go we went into lock down - and my third attempt I accepted and was then told to withdraw as it clashed with my Daughter’s 21st (thankfully before having to do the training !) – SO finally I am on my way again and looking forward to the continuing training through the cold, wind, rain, sleet, snow and whatever else is thrown at me in January and February ???? Is this really a good idea ???
For those that do not know, the ride to MIPIM is an endurance ride from London to Cannes over 7 days, with 85 cyclists covering 1500km, 17,498m of ascents over a number of stages but with a minimum of 100 – 130km per day.
All riders will be fundraising for Club Peloton who raise money to help vulnerable young people and transform young lives by supporting a number of charities – MSA Trust, Coram, Cyclists Fighting Cancer and Tom Ap Rhys Pryce Memorial Trust.
Both Club Peloton, their charities and I will be grateful for anyone who can support me on my journey to MIPIM this year.
