Hi all,

Myself (Craig Macdonald) and David McCardel have agreed to run the Edinburgh marathon on the 28th of May. We ran the Glasgow half marathon a couple of years ago but since then Davie's kind words (yeah but it's only a half, Craig!!!) have been stuck in my head. A life-long goal for both of us, we are now ready to take on the challenge with support from friends and family!

We will be running alongside other friends, specifically Paul Hughes, Jonathan O'Donnell and Scott Eaglesham. It will be a first marathon for all of us bar Jonathan so it's a bit daunting hence we decided to try and raise some money in the hope this will spur us on when things get tough.

Davie and I have decided to raise funds for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, a charity trying to rid the world of Motor Neurone Disease. This is such a horrible condition that has such a devastating affect on those who are diagnosed with it as well as their loved ones as they try to deal with the condition. Sadly, Doddie Weir passed away last year, further proof that the illness doesn't care who it takes, regardless of how big and strong you are! There are so many great charities but for us this is certainly up there.  There is so much more research required to help stop this illness and for that they need funding.
