Story
Many of you will know this but my Father in law Norman was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in 2012. Following a major operation and 6 months of chemo he was back on his feet, and 2 years later ran his first marathon at 71 years old!
Norman is again fighting this incredibly aggressive cancer but still manages to do half marathons on a regular basis, he is also the most positive man you will ever meet.
My wife Jenni ran the London Marathon last year for PCA in just under 4 hours and it made me unbelievably proud watching her achieve this.
I may not be the biggest fan of running but I am Jenni and Norman’s biggest fan so I will be running this for them.
Pancreatic cancer receives just 0.8% of cancer research funding, despite just a 2-4% survival rate beyond 5 years which I am proud to say Norman beat this milestone and we celebrated earlier this year. In addition to this Abraxane, a drug which has had some success in treating advanced pancreatic cancer, was recently taken off the NHS due to cost.
I not only want to raise money to support research into pancreatic cancer and other families in this position, but also to raise awareness of this cancer and the lack of funding and support it receives nationally.
Thank you for taking the time to support me, it means everything.
