Story
In September 2016, Craig was admitted to Le Bonheur with viral meningitis. After a couple of days in the Germantown location, we noticed he was having trouble swallowing and couldn’t raise his left arm, so he was transferred to the downtown location where he could receive better care and where he spent 2 weeks. We had to make a decision to put a feeding tube in, after he failed numerous swallowing test.
Craig finally came home with a feeding tube and some paralysis on his left side. Meningitis is a very serious illness that affects millions of children and adults. Craig never complained and his faith never wavered. He just wanted to work hard to pass the swallow test and be able to lift his left arm. He finally passed the swallow test (after 3 months) and was able to return to school. He still had an obstacle ahead of him to work on his left arm and shoulder. He spent numerous years in physical therapy and with trainers to rebuild
his arm and shoulder muscles.
Because God is so Awesome, Craig is now a Senior at Lausanne Collegiate School and the running back for the varsity football team, under the leadership of Coach Kevin Lacasto.
We are thankful for our family and friends for your love and support.
For every touchdown Craig scores, we are asking you to pledge $8.00 (Craig’s jersey number). All funds will go to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.
Thank you in advance for your support in helping us and we are excited for a successful football season while “Making it to the End Zone for Meningitis.”
