Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm running the 2018 London Landmarks Half
Marathon, for MND Scotland, in memory of my amazing wife.
Motor Neurone Disease touched my life in June 2014 when my wife Kerryann was diagnosed, when she was just 46 years old. MND is a severely life-shortening, progressive disease with no cure.
Kerryann had an aggressive form of MND, which took her speech away from her quickly. I left work in August 2016 to care for her at home. This was an extremely difficult time for all the family, including our children, Ashley and Michael.
In June 2017 I wanted to take part in MND Scotland’s skydive, but I pulled out because Kerryann wanted to be there to see me jump. I was just too upset and emotional to do this after she passed. Thankfully,
my son's partner Kirsten did the jump for me. Kerryann was so brave throughout her illness; now I want to do something to help MND Scotland raise awareness of MND and to raise funds so that research can carry on in this country, so that we can hopefully find a cure one day.
So, I’ll be doing the London Landmarks Half Marathon in March with my mate Steven – although I’m sure he’ll be miles in front of me! I hope you will support me by trying to raise funds and awareness for MND Scotland.
Thank you for taking the time to read our
story and for your kind donations.
