CPB Charity Bike Ride 2022 · 16 June 2022
The CPB peloton is back after a two-year absence and is more motivated than ever to raise money for two very worthy causes: Green Education Trust and International Rescue Committee.
2022's route will see riders tackle some of Italy and Switzerland's most fearsome climbs, starting in Tirano and finishing in Bormio. The toughest challenge on the third and final day will be provided by the mighty Stelvio Pass, which rises more than 1,800m in 21km (7.1% average gradient) and tops out at 2,757m above sea level. It is the highest paved mountain pass in the Eastern Alps, and the second highest in the Alps!
Each day will be a stern test for all as the riders will complete between 50km and 120km in distance and climb between 1,000m and 3,000m in elevation!
Please do support the team's valiant efforts and give generously to support our chosen charities. Thank you!
Greenacres Education Trust: This incredible school in Uganda provides education facilities for 380 children between 4-12 years old, all from diverse backgrounds - reducing the inequality gaps that exist because of education and gender, and providing training for entrepreneurial skills and small business management. Greenacres was founded by an individual from within the CPB family. Link to website: https://www.greenacreseducationtrust.co.uk/about-us.php
International Rescue Committee: The Russia-Ukraine conflict is having devastating consequences for Ukraine's civilian population and humanitarian needs are expected to rise. The IRC launched an immediate emergency response to the crisis and is working with partners in Poland and Ukraine. Link to website: https://www.rescue.org/topic/ukraine-crisis
