Fundraising for further treatment for Neuroblastoma, out in Barcelona, Spain.

Story

You often hear bad press about football supporters but rarely do you read the good stuff like this, London lads heading 300 miles north for a rematch, in their own time and at their own cost supporting a little girl with Neuroblastoma

Whenever you put West Ham and Millwall fans and Newcastle and Sunderland fans in the same sentence its normally because of trouble during or after a Derby, or just general rivalry hatred, so to hear of these fans standing side by side in order to help a little girl called Isla Caton who is 4 years old, is quite astounding.

We are raising money once again for 4 year old Isla as she still needs a lot of fundraising help for treatment abroad not available in the UK for her fight against Neuroblastoma.

On the 26th August 2018 an amazing event took place at 3pm on Parkside, Aveley FC... An invasion of Geordies and Mackems called Team North played a game of football in aid of then 3 year old West Ham fan Isla Caton against Team South who were made up of West Ham and Millwall supporters.  Despite bad weather 32 players turned up, played a match which ended up 4-4 and raised in total over £8000 which has went towards Isla Catons treatment fund...

A rematch has been called due to dubious decisions against both teams during the match down south, 6 offside decisions against Team Norths Gaz Horsley was clearly a vendetta by the linesman with Gaz being the fattest player on the pitch, a clear cut penalty against Team Norths Mike Groom when they were cruising 3-1 up could have been a match finisher, BUT nothing compares to the VAR decision awarded in the last minute to Team North when they were trailing 4-3, the foul was committed in the centre circle but the referee awarded a penalty!!!!! Dean Robson converted the penalty at the second attempt bringing Team North level and the game finishing a fitting 4-4 draw.

This rematch will take place at Druid Park  in Newcastle upon Tyne on the 23rd March 2019 at 12pm.

Each player will have to raise a minimum of £100 sponsorship prior to the game in order to be eligible to play, so please leave a message with the players name when donating and this will assist the player eligibility.
