Story
Sean and I (Courtney) will be among a small group of golfers setting out to play 100 holes of golf, in one day, with an ambitious goal of raising $15,000 for MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer)!
Courtney is a current Women for MACC board member and was drawn to MACC Fund through her work producing 'Family Story' videos for Women for MACC. Through this, she has gotten to know many families impacted by childhood cancer, and has seen the unimaginable heartbreak and pain these families and children go through - something no family/child should have to endure.
Unfortunately, all of us have likely been affected by cancer in our lives, whether it’s directly, a family member, friend or co-worker. Heartbreakingly, only 4% of the annual National Institutes of Health budget goes towards childhood cancer research.
More needs to be done.
Sean and I have made it our mission to raise this money so research can progress...so clinical trials can continue to bring hope to families worldwide...and so 'cured' kiddos can live a healthy, happy, side effect free life.
The MACC Fund is focused on fighting childhood cancer by providing critical funding for research into cures and treatments. 'The Ringer' is one of MACC Funds largest fundraisers, raising more than $500,000 in the four short years this event has been around! All of the proceeds have gone directly towards childhood cancer research!
Thank you so much for helping!
